The Harcourts have been touring and promoting old time country and country gospel for more than 15 years.

Kevin & Marg Harcourt, also known as The Harcourts have been back on the road for two years after taking a five-year break from touring. They have played to over 230 appreciative audiences over the past year alone. During their hiatus from the road, they owned and operated the entertainment center known as Danceland, in Central Saskatchewan. The Harcourts toured for almost 10 years before owning and operating Danceland - where they also entertained audiences 5-6 nights a week during their proprietorship.

The dynamic duo takes you back in time using memories, music and humor as the theme for their show. Kevin relates to the 'back home times' and uses traditional country music as the means of sharing his stories Kevin Harcourtof growing up and all his recollections of past road trips and countless concerts. He adds a unique drama as he stretches the truth in his all his stories. Many events have benefited from Kevin's flexibility - as he doubles as an MC while providing the entertainment at the same time. The Harcourts' music brings tears of sorrow and laughter as the audience reminisces the past. Kevin and Marg bring people back to a time when life was simpler, maybe not easier, but not as hectic as it is today. During their intimate performances, the audience becomes involved by clapping their hands, tapping their toes and singing along to their favorite old songs. Kevin, who plays rhythm guitar, is famous for his cavernous bass voice. Marg, who also programs their electronic drum tracks, fulfills keyboard duties. She is known for her clean harmonies, which make the blend of their voices, and instruments a joy to listen to.

The Harcourts, with 29 years of marriage, treat their fans with the same respect as they treat each other. TheyMarg Harcourt live in their 40 foot converted Greyhound tour coach full time. This gives them the luxury of claiming that they are at home wherever they are. They have been nominated for and won many awards from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association and have been favored with an abundance of radio play, interviews, TV appearances and favorable press. The Harcourts specialize in family shows - particularly for people that enjoy country memories and good clean humor. They've performed on fair and exhibition stages in the past. Kevin has had the experience of being president of exhibition boards while also holding the positions of entertainment chairperson and MC. He has worked on both sides of the table and knows what the fair and exhibition organizers must go through to make it a success. The Harcourts have recorded 17 cassettes and 11 CD's! Through their years upon years of touring have built up a mailing list of over 30,000 people. With this impressive statistic, have come sales of their recordings to people all over the world.

The Harcourts ...who they are...

Kevin Harcourt grew up in Leroy, Saskatchewan and was the second child of a family of 10 children. Music was always a big part of his life, with his dad being a fiddle player and his mother a pianist. Kevin learned to play guitar by the time he was 12 years old from accompanying his father while they played 'all the old songs', as Kevin recalls.

Marg Harcourt was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan to a family of 17 kids. Music also played a large part in her upbringing. As her older sisters played the accordion, the entire family would gather around to sing all the old tunes. Marg remembers Saturday nights as the time the family would watch Don Messer, Tommy Hunter and many other great country acts on television.

Kevin & Marg met in Swift Current in July 1973 and were married in December of the same year. They were blessed with two children, Karrie Lynn in 1976 and Jason Michael in 1977. Kevin played in a band for several years and eventually ran a music store in Humboldt SK. Music was always his number one love and after being in sales for many years decided to make performing music his number one profession.

1986 marked the year that The Harcourts where formed as a The Harcourtsmusical duo. Kevin and Marg, along with their two children moved into a 23-foot motor home and began a life of traveling and singing. They lived as a touring musical family that only took time out from the road to record albums, of which they did fourteen. These recordings consisted of nine traditional country albums, four gospel albums and a Christmas release. During this same time The Harcourts were honored with nominations and awards from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association. These included two winning efforts for Gospel Album of the Year in 1994 and 1995 with nominations for Album of the Year in 1993, Vocal Collaboration of the Year in 1992 and Gospel Album of the Year in 1993 and 1994.

The kids went to high school after two years of touring and boarded with friends and family. They are now 25 and 26 years old and doing well.

Be sure to watch for the Harcourts in your area and take in a concert of good memories and good clean family fun. Remember their slogan "Keeping the Traditional Music New".
